Dogs With Jobs: This is a video presentation illustrating the services dogs provide.
There is a discussion of how to become involved in these activities, what kinds of dogs
make the best workers in each field and more.  TV/VCR needed.
 Grades 3-12.
Objective:  Students will be able to name one service that dogs perform for people.

Careers in working with animals: This program designed for middle/high school
students will teach children what jobs are available  in service to animals.  Kids are
given a variety of t-shirts and other materials with the logos of animal organizations
around the country.  They determine what type of organization their item is from, what
jobs may be available in those organizations and how to best prepare for those jobs.
Objective:  Students will be able to name one career choice and one path to the career
choice.

The Animal/Human Bond: this program illustrates the bond between animals and
people, and teaches children about empathy through a series of role-playing.  Puppets
are incorporated and children read from a pre-written script.  As the animal puppets sit
around discussing their feelings, students begin to learn the importance of stewardship,
not dominance, of animals.
Middle and high school. Objective:  Students will be able
to name one similarity among humans and non-human/animals and one way that we can
show we care for animals.
We work strictly on donations,
suggested donation is $1 per child.
CPR/First Aid: This is a hands-on exercise that teaches children how and when to
perform CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver on animals.  A specially-made CPR dog is
incorporated into the program. There is also a discussion of first aid and some of the
dangers of household chemicals.
Middle and high school.  Objective:  Students will
be able to demonstrate CPR on a dog mannequin.

A Lesson in Civics: During this presentation, high school students learn how laws are
made using an animal law as a model.  They will learn how a simple idea for making
life safer for animals evolves into a state law making life better for the animals.
Students learn about how laws are introduced, what part lobbyists play, how the
average citizen can help animals through lobbying and how your voting choices help
animals.  Objective:  Students will be able to recite the steps involved in making a bill
become law.

Zoonotics: This presentation appeals especially to science classes and includes a
discussion of zoonotic diseases (diseases which are shared by both animals and
humans alike).  Included specimens of worms and other creepy things preserved in
jars are suitably disgusting enough to appeal to middle schoolers.  This is presented
mostly on overhead slides and through the use of a microscope.
 Grades 6-12.
Objective:  Students will be able to name one disease that both animals and humans
share.

The Good Citizenship Award: This is a lesson in our responsibility towards animals
for their care and control of their breeding. Includes a discussion of spay/neuter,
veterinary care, basic obedience and good manners, being a good neighbor and more.

Grades 6-12.
Objective: Students will be able to discuss the importance of early
sterilization and responsible animal care.
Lessons on pet bereavement, care of horses, and volunteerism are also available upon
request.  Lesson can be tailored to fit a specific group.
